Ventos de Sao Zacarias (“VSZ”) is building a wind farm located in the municipalities of Simões - Piauí and Araripina - Pernambuco in Northeastern Brazil. With its commercial operations planned for 2024 and a generation capacity of 456 MW, the project will be built in one of the largest wind farm clusters in Latin America.

VSZ has entered into a Turbine Supply Agreement and associated long term Service and Availability Agreement with the Nordex Group for 80 N163/[5.7X]MW Wind Turbine Generators. The Nordex Group is a global player and one of the world’s largest wind turbine manufacturers and has more than 9,000 employees worldwide for over 35 years.

VSZ has selected Elecnor Brasil as the contractor for the construction phase.  Elecnor Brasil, with its more than 6,700 employees, is involved in the construction of power lines and substations and wind farms. Elecnor Brasil also carries out work in the gas sector with the main concessionaires in the country, both public and private, with the construction of gas pipelines as one of its main capabilities.

SEMAR/PI granted an Installation License for both the Project (LI # PI-LI.00292-0/2022) and Project's transmission line (LI # PI-LI.00290-0/2022) in February 2022 under which VSZ started initial construction activities in late 2022.
